What an excellent time of year to be in love with film and be in Los Angeles.

Every day in movies-everywhere-movieland is pretty excellent, of course, but come awards season, and the time for honors, the number of legends 'round these parts heads up and up.

And the chances to hear them speak on a favorite movie also increase, too. Jean-Paul Belmondo, the actor from "Breathless," the man who was at the forefront of French New Wave and a muse for Truffaut, is visiting the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Friday, January 15th.

He's in town to receive a LA Film Critics career achievement award, but, before he does (that's on the 16th), he'll visit LACMA to talk about "Mississippi Mermaid," a film he made with Catherine Deneuve. And Francois Truffaut.

The screening time is 7:30PM. Date's Friday, January 15th. Ticket info here.

Superlative '60s cinema, New Wave legends, a museum on a Friday night in the middle of awards season. C'est bon indeed.
