When all those Portland-based musicians -- who fashion a rousing mix of old-cinema-new-swing-French-torch-songs-'60s-film-love-ditties -- fill up the big stage at the Bowl, it's a bit of music magic. It's the fabled past of the place, the beauty of its lit-up signage and building, the stories.
