Missed Lance's Vegas Bash? Beaujolais at UCLA

Where were you at midnight on Thursday, November 20? Hopefully somewhere adjacent to the Paris Las Vegas Eiffel Tower in Sin City. If you were, and you hadn't had too many of those long-neck, glow-in-the-dark margaritas (a Strip staple, natch), then you know that Mr. Lance Bass turned the Tower's brilliant red lights on at 12AM sharp to celebrate the arrival of Beaujolais Nouveau, the wine that is always released the third Thursday in November.

Sounds like the party was tres magnifique (any soiree that includes the word "cask" already is way ahead in our books), but we have our own way to celebrate here. Mr. Bass may not be on the bill -- we'll have to catch him hoofing on "Dancing With the Stars" -- but there are plenty of ohh-la-la delights for the Francophile who must spend this special day Stateside.

For example? Beaujolais Passions is a grand, food-filled extravaganza that fetes the release of the famed wine. Look for vendors aplenty selling French cuisine, plus a DJ, dancing and a raffle. Oh, and vino. Lots of beautiful, deep red vino. C'est bon. Thursday, November 20, 6:30PM-midnight. $30 at door. Royce Hall, 340 Royce Drive, UCLA Campus, Los Angeles.
