To encourage youth to read and foster an appreciation of literacy, NBC4 participated in numerous Read Across America events in March including NBC4 Traffic Anchor Alysha Del Valle who read to students at Laurel Elementary School in Whittier, NBC4 Reporter Hetty Chang participated in the program at Leal Elementary School in Cerritos and NBC4 Meteorologist Anthony Yanez read to students at Rio Vista Elementary School in North Hollywood.
