NBC4 to Air ‘Roggin's Heroes Thanksgiving Special' Highlighting Top High School Football Players in Southern California

Thanksgiving is about family, food and football, and NBC4’s sports anchor, Fred Roggin, will bring these three things together in his ‘Roggin's Heroes Thanksgiving’ special, to air on Thanksgiving evening at 8:30 p.m.

The 30-minute special will showcase 12 of Southern California's leading high school football players and take a look at how their strong family bonds have helped them reach their success. The program includes heartwarming stories, including one about a player who finds motivation through monthly conversations with his father, who is unable to watch him play due to his military service in the Middle East; and another about a running back, who uses a hyperbaric chamber to help maximize his performance. Another segment features one of the nation’s top quarterbacks, who suffered a season-ending knee injury that could have put his college scholarship in jeopardy. His positive attitude and hard work in physical therapy are helping lead to his quick recovery, along with a get well letter from Tim Tebow, the famous quarterback, with whom he’s often compared.
