Stylist/buyer Ilaria Urbinati and Danny Masterson's designer emporium Confederacy officially opened for business yesterday. We saw Masterson some hours later at the Whitley Kros fashion show and heard from one editor that the boutique was well-done and more upscale than expected—more Barneys than Fred Segal, with high-end designer finds you'll be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in the city.
It certainly is a significant addition to the East Hollywood/Los Feliz area, where small indie boutiques are aplenty, but not shops stocked with the kind of luxurious merch you'll find here. We heard designer Rachel Pally, also at Whitley Kros and carrying a fabulous black bag with strands of black beads, plotting her trip to the new boutique.
