The Kari Feinstien Pre-Emmy Awards Style Lounge kicked off yesterday, the purpose of the event to expose celebrities and industry folk to fashion and beauty essentials to prepare for Sunday’s big show. Vendors were spread throughout the roomy Hollywood Hills mansion to discuss their products and give away fun freebies. Guests departed with arms full of goodies from Solstice, Artemis, Tacori, and Beyond Baroque. But some of the products didn’t keep with the theme of Emmy’s preparation; we’re pretty sure none of the nominees will be rocking elastic headbands from Claire’s on the red carpet.
SWAG was being thrown all over the place: black-and-white micro minis from Brazilian brand Colcci, gold and pearl vintage inspired necklaces from Beyond Baroque, and striped scarves from Michael Stars (we had just missed model Bar Rafaeli stocking up on some white tanks). And we admittedly don’t care much for graphic T-shirts, but the super soft cotton and ultra flattering fit of our new Proper Tea top is making us rethink our position.
But our favorite freebie was The AFA Cuff given out by the event’s charity, YouthAIDS. The gold and silver cuff bracelets are etched with illustrations done by children at the Rebero Orphan Center who directly benefits from the charity. The cuffs can be purchased at Aldo for $5 and the net proceeds go to YouthAIDS programs worldwide.
We watched Disney diva Ashley Tisdale, who only smiled when her photo was being taken, select some new Reebok kicks beside actor Chi McBride, and we eavesdropped as Stephanie Pratt chatted with an old pal from rehab by the LORAC makeup table. And on the way out, we watched Frankie Delgado, tons of free SWAG in hand, suggest that PR owed him a car wash because the (free) valet service had parked his car by a sprinkler. We think/hope he was joking. [RackedWire]
