Pixie Dust Is Real in Griffith Park

Sounds bizarre, but fairy-hunting is fun.

Fairies really get the shaft around the holidays. This time of year everyone's all about Santa, his reindeer, and the elves. Fairies? Not so much (more of a springtime thing). But kids know they're out there, and the charming Faery Hunt captures that wonder by hosting kids on a fairy-seeking mission.

The popular Faery Hunts have been happening around LA for years, but now they've come to Griffith Park. Rolling hills, gorgeous trees, and a sweet spot right next to the LA Zoo make Griffith a perfect spot to let your little ones roam free in pursuit of imaginary flying pixies (really not so imaginary -- the kind Faery Queen who leads the quest leaves tangible fairies and other magical creatures for the kids to find). Hey, it gets the kids outside using their noggins and at $10 a person, it's cheaper than a babysitter.
