America's Next Great Restaurant, Soul Daddy, opened today for business in the Hollywood & Highland complex on level four, after last night’s winner was announced on the NBC reality show.
Jamawn Woods, a Detroit native, realizes that people in L.A. are “worried about their figure,” so he's making healthy Soul Food. Aha! “For example a baked chicken will be on the menu. I also serve a whole wheat biscuit,” says Woods. Healthy fare aside, the chef’s signature is a corn-bread waffle that people were ordering today in droves. “The crowd loved it,” confirms Woods.
