Sup on the Sunday and Monday Menu at Vermont

Is Sunday really the end of the weekend? We'll call Sunday night the official start of the week. You're picking out your clothes, you're making your tuna salad sandwich for the next day, you're balancing the checkbook, you're finally returning some phone calls and emails.

Which is all to say that we don't mind a whit when Sunday evening gets paired with Monday night, a time of week that is most certainly start-of-the-week-ish. The two nights are going hand-in-hand -- if segments of the day could be said to have hands -- with the new "Dish It Out" prix fixe menus at Vermont restaurant in Los Feliz.

There's a first course, a main, and dessert. Choices might cover Warm Medjool Date Salad -- just the words "warm medjool" have us daydreaming -- and panna cotta might be one of the sweets. Chef Stephane Beaucamp has been at the Vermont range for just about a month now (he worked at Sutra Bar down in the OC) and we're guessing the menu will reflect his tastes and talents.

We just read he's doing a special beet salad on the regular menu. Beets. May they never, ever be impacted by fickle fashions or culinary trends. May they keep on redding up our lives forever.

The price of Vermont's "Dish It Out" is $28 and the dishes will change with the seasons. Sunday and Monday, however, will remain fully at the start of all our weeks.
