Three Infants Injured When Pursuit Suspect Crashes Into Family Car

Three infants were injured Wednesday night in a crash at the end of a police chase on the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in South Los Angeles.

The chase of a suspected DUI driver began in Watts but ended at about 8:15 p.m. near Central Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A family of seven, including a 2-month-old child were coming back from trick-or-treating when they got hit by a gray Mitsubishi. Three of the infants were injured.

The father, only identified as "Beto," said he felt something crashing from the back of his vehicle and shortly after he realized the ambulances and helicopters he had seen were due to the pursuit that ended up ruining their Halloween.

"They [children] were in a good mood, but not no more," he said.

The suspect, who had been on foot in freeway lanes after the crash, was taken into custody.
