What You're Doing Tonight: May 28th

BEN HARPER AND RELENTLESS7: Hello, Claremont. We just swung by the village's famous Folk Music Center, which Ben Harper's grandparents famously ran, and found it to be full of good feel and strum-happy vibes. No surprise that this alt-folk-funk-rock star grew up loving music there. He and R7 are at The Wiltern at 8PM.

AMERICAN GIRL MOVIE: It's free, it's at The Grove on the grassy bit, it will be very well attended, so arrive early. There's a picnic-basket-reserved-seating deal for a fee; call the The Grove concierge at 323-900-8080 for more info. Oh, and the movie? "An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong." 7:30PM

CINEMATIC ART-HOUSE ROCK: St. Vincent -- aka Annie Clark -- plays multiple instruments, has an angelic, moody voice, and rocked with the Polyphonic Spree. Really, that's all we needed to know when we bought her first album, which we listened to, oh, 20 times that first week. Can you wear down an MP3? El Rey, 8PM
