One Killed in Fiery Freeway Crash East of Downtown Los Angeles

One person was killed and another injured Monday morning when two vehicles crashed and burned on a freeway east of downtown Los Angeles.

A sport utility vehicle and car were invovled in the crash on the eastbound 60 Freeway in the Monterey Park area. Details regarding the injured victim's condition were not immediately available.

The deceased victim was identified only as a man in his 30s.

The crash left both cars on fire near the center divider before the height of the morning drive. Lanes were closed for the crash investigation and fire department response.

The freeway reopened at about 9 a.m.
