Woman Reports Attempted Kidnapping in Garden Grove

Two of the suspects were described as Hispanic, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 140 pounds and wearing black clothing.

A 21-year-old woman reported that a man attempted to kidnap her and pull her into a van with two other men inside Wednesday in Garden Grove, but she got away after using pepper spray on the suspect.

The woman said she was walking about 1:30 p.m. in the area of Bixby Avenue and Brookhurst Street when the suspect attempted to drag her into a van with one man at the side door ready to pull her into the vehicle, according to Garden Grove police Sgt. Juan Centeno.

Once she sprayed the first man with pepper spray, he released her and fled in the van, which was silver or light green in color, the woman told police.

Two of the suspects were described as Hispanic, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 140 pounds and wearing black clothing. A description was not made available of a third man who was driving the van.
