Bolsa Chica Wetlands Fund Running Dry

Money is running out to keep the seawater flowing into the Orange County's Bolsa Chica Ecological Preserve.

The wetlands became populated with sea life and migrating birds when the water started flowing 10 years ago - something that hadn't been seen in 100 years.

The wetlands along Pacific Coast Highway between Seal Beach and Huntington Beach function like a "hotel" for migrating birds.

After decades of restoration, the State Lands Commission is now seeking additional funding after $3 million of $151 million is left.
