Broken Pipe Leads to Flooding at Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Station

LAPD's Topanga station was shut down and evacuated Tuesday evening after a broken pipe flooded the police station.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Topanga station was shut down and evacuated Tuesday evening after a broken pipe caused flooding.

A pipe busted on the lower level of the police station on Schoenborn Street in Canoga Park around 10 p.m., LAPD's Media Relations section said.

Officers won't be able to bring people inside the station because it remains under fire watch, meaning the station has no working fire sprinklers, according to police.

LAPD officers and the Los Angeles Fire Department were working together to clean up the flooding.

Employees of the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety were on their way to assess the damage, police said.

No injuries were reported.
