Crews Contain Brush Fire That Threatened Homes in Orange County

Firefighters extinguished a 4-acre brush fire that threatened homes in an Orange County neighborhood on Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

The fire burned an area near Tortoise Shell Road in Coto de Caza, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

At least 70 firefighters worked to protect a few homes in the area.

Officials said they had contained the fire just before 2:15 p.m. and were working to put out any hot spots. No evacuations were ordered.
