Arrest Made After Woman Found Dead in Burbank Home

Police on Monday announced an arrest in connection with the discovery of a woman's dead body inside a Burbank home one night earlier, officials said.

Few details regarding her death were available Monday. The homeowner told police she didn't live at the residence.

Later, Brian Thomas Lowe, 49, was arrested in connection with the woman's death. Police announced the arrest Monday evening but did not release further details. Additional arrests are possible, police said.

Police said Lowe, who lives at the home with his mother, and the victim were acquaintances.

In the past two year, Lowe has been arrested half a dozen times on misdemeanor charges and sentences to 60 days in jail.

Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Richard Street at about 10 p.m. Sunday for a report of a stabbing, said Burbank police Sgt. Joshua Kendrick.

They found a dead woman inside the home and, "based on the circumstances of the death," detectives were summoned "and are currently investigating" it as a homicide.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, Kendrick said the woman had not yet been identified.

Investigators with the crime unit sifted through the home for hours hoping to find any information to help them piece together what occurred.

Meanwhile, residents were on high alert in the neighborhood.

"I'm sure no doubt they'll solve this crime, I mean I sure hope they do, " Jeff Bjoin said. "It would make me feel better as I go for my morning walk and sit out in my front yard, I want to feel safe where I live."

Melissa Etezadi and Robert Kovacik contributed to this report.
