To B or Not to B at LAX

Passengers will be able to retrieve their vehicles there through Jan. 31.

There will be a little less parking at LAX starting Thursday. The city agency that operates the airport announced long-term parking Lot B will close permanently.

Passengers returning after the formal closure of the lot at 111th Street and La Cienega Boulevard will be able to retrieve their vehicles there through Jan. 31.

Instead of Lot B, travelers are encouraged to park in economy Lot C at 96th Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, Los Angeles World Airports said in a statement. Parking at Lot C is free for the first two hours and costs $1 for every two hours thereafter, up to a maximum daily rate of $12.

Free LAX Shuttle service is available 24-hours daily to transport travelers between Lot C and airline terminals.

Lot B will be consolidated with Lot E, currently being used for employee parking, and the resulting area will be used for employee parking, said Treva Miller of LAWA.
