Car Partially Disintegrates in Inglewood Solo Crash

A Ford Mustang slammed into a pole in the Los Angeles area early Friday morning, sending two people to the hospital, police said.

The car hit the pole so hard it partially disintegrated, according to an Inglewood Police Department spokesman. The one-car crash took place at the Inglewood intersection of Century Boulevard and 3rd Avenue, and was reported to police at 1:15 a.m.

One person was trapped in the vehicle, but firefighters were able to extract them within a few minutes. One other person was sent to the hospital with them, according to police. Their conditions were initially unknown, and it wasn't clear how the second person was injured.

The car was painted with racing stripes but there was no indication it crashed while racing, police said. Their investigation was ongoing.
