LAFD Vehicle Collides With Another Vehicle, Strikes 2 Pedestrians

A Los Angeles Fire Department command vehicle collided with another vehicle while racing to a multiple-victim shooting Saturday evening in South Los Angeles and then struck two pedestrians, a fire department spokesman said.

The collision was at 7122 S. Main St., near the intersection with Florence Avenue, about 6:10 p.m., according to fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey and Los Angeles police Sgt. Dana Adams of South Traffic Division.

"The fire department vehicle was traveling with lights and sirens on when the crash took place," Humphrey said.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, Humphrey said.

After the crash the fire department vehicle then struck two female pedestrians.

All three people suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Humphrey said.

The crash remained under investigation by LAPD's South Traffic Division and the fire department.
