A San Pedro high school teacher was in custody Wednesday following his arrest for allegedly possessing child pornography.
Daniel O'Connell, 32, of Rancho Palos Verdes, was arrested Tuesday and booked on suspicion of possession of child pornography, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. He was being held on $20,000 bail.
O'Connell is employed at Mary Star of the Sea High School as a physics teacher, according to the LAPD.
Detectives began investigating O'Connell after receiving information that he was allegedly "having inappropriate contact with minors that he met while on a mathematics tutoring website," according to an LAPD statement.
