Hit-Run Driver Who Killed a Man in Van Nuys Sought

The driver failed to stop or render aid, police said.

A 22-year-old man died after exiting his car on a Van Nuys street and being struck by a hit-and-run motorist, whom Los Angeles police were searching for Saturday.

The crash occurred about 10 p.m. Friday on Sepulveda Boulevard south of Hatteras Street, according to police.

The victim had just exited his car and was crossing Sepulveda when he was struck by a speeding white Infiniti G37 northbound on Sepulveda, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. It's unclear if he was crossing in a crosswalk.

The driver failed to stop or render aid, police said.

The victim died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
