A father of two boys was shot and killed Sunday night on a street in the Hollywood Hills.
No arrests were reported Monday morning after the shooting in the 200 block of Sycamore Avenue. The victim was identified by family members as 27-year-old Henry Estrada.
"We don't have a lot of clues on this one, just yet," said LAPD Lt. John Radtke. "This is a community up here where many people have video systems, so I would ask people to check those video systems."
The body was found next to bushes outside a walled-off property. Radtke said it appeared the shooter chased Estrada up the hill and fired multiple rounds.
Neighbor Nancy Huddleston said she heard five or six shots in a row. When she ran out into the street, she said she saw a woman hunched over Estrada's body with her arms covered in blood.
"She was very distraught, screaming his name and very scared," Huddleston said.
A white or silver vehicle was seen leaving the crime scene, Radtke said. Details regarding a make or model were not available.
Estrada was visiting the neighborhood, family members said. Detectives planned to search a home in the neighborhood where the deceased man was staying, police said. Neighbors said the residence was a rental home.
On Monday night, family members placed candles and a tribute card near where their loved one was slain. They described him as "always happy and smiling."
Investigators asked anyone with information about the shooting to call 213-382-9470.
