Man Wounded in Hollywood Shooting Near Red Line Station

The name of the victim and a motive for the shooting were not disclosed.

A man was hospitalized in unknown condition Thursday night with injuries he sustained in a shooting in Hollywood as police searched for the gunman.

Officers responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon/shooting call in the 5400 block of Hollywood Boulevard, near Western Avenue, about 9:30 p.m., where they located the victim, according to Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, Im said.

Preliminary information from LAPD indicates the man was working as a security guard. 

The shooter was described as a man, approximately 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a white hooded shirt and white shorts and armed with a gun, Im said.
