A man holding a knife was arrested after engaging in a standoff with officers outside of Universal Studios, police said.
The standoff began around 4:45 a.m. after police were investigating a man with stolen shopping carts, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The 30-year-old man began acting aggresively toward officers and then pulled out a 6-to-7 inch knife or dagger, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers used a stun gun on the man and took him into custody, police said. Police called paramedics to treat the man's injuries.
The location is near the Metro Red Line Universal City/Studio City station.
