LA County Gas Prices Drop for 11th Consecutive Day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 11th consecutive day, decreasing 2.3 cents to $4.009, its lowest amount since Sept. 27.

The average price has dropped 12 cents over the past 11 days, including 1.9 cents on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 8.1 cents less than one week ago and 21.4 cents lower than a month ago, but 32.7 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 12th consecutive day, decreasing 2.2 cents to $3.954, also its lowest amount since Sept. 27. It has dropped 13.4 cents over the past 12 days, including 1.7 cents on Friday.

The Orange County average price is 8.9 cents less than a week ago and 22.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 32.9 cents more than a year ago.

"Los Angeles wholesale gasoline prices have been dropping in response to news of imported supply and refiners selling excess supply on the spot market," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
