LA Gas Prices Rise For Fifth Consecutive Day

Gas prices have risen 40 cents since the start of the year.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Saturday for the fifth consecutive day, inching up one-tenth of a cent to $3.791.

The average price has risen 11.9 cents over the past five days, including 1.1 cents on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 11.7 cents more than one week ago, 20.8 cents higher than one month ago and 10.8 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 40 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $3.753 after rising for the previous six days, including 1.2 cents on Friday.

The Orange County average price is 11.9 cents more than one week ago, 19.6 cents higher than one month ago and 12.1 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 40.4 cents since the start of the year.
