Man Suffers Five Gun Shot Wounds in South LA

A man was shot several times near a liquor store in South Los Angeles Thursday and police were searching for the gunman, police said.

Police received multiple calls of gunshots in the 2300 block of Central Avenue at 7:26 p.m., said LAPD Officer Jack Richter.

Police found a man who had been shot five times after a fist fight around the corner from a liquor store.

The victim was transported to a hospital and was expected to survive.

LAPD said it hoped surveillance video from the store had information it could use to investigate the shooting.
