Two Men Sought Related to Construction Site Burglary

Police Monday were looking for two men suspected of breaking into a fenced-off construction site in Riverside and stealing more than $1,000 worth of tools.

The burglary occurred at about 11:25 p.m. Friday at 3750 University Ave., after which the two suspected thieves fled from the site on foot to a nearby parking garage where they stashed the power tools in a car, according to the Riverside City Police Department.

Investigators said the thieves then walked around the downtown entertainment district.

One suspected thief was described as a 20- to 25-year-old man who is 5-feet-8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red hat, gray button-down flannel and light blue jeans, police said.

The second suspected thief was described as a 20- to 25-year-old man who is 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt under a black windbreaker-style vest and gray pants, police said.
