A 23-year-old man was found dead on a sidewalk after being gunned down in Palmdale on Saturday night, detectives said.
The shooting occurred in the 2400 block of East Avenue R-4 around 8:50 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Detectives said the man was walking on the sidewalk when he was shot by a suspect. The victim ran a short distance but collapsed, LASD said in a news release. Several witnesses in the neighborhood reported hearing gunshots.
The man was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There is no suspect information at this time.
The shooting was under investigation.
