Hollywood Authorities Seek Help Identifying ‘Bird Poop Bandits' in Pickpocket Case

The first reported theft involved one of the thieves offering to wipe bird poop off a person's back as he removed a wallet from the victim's pocket.

Two thieves have been approaching people "warning" them of having bird poop on their back as a way to divert their attention and pickpocket victims, according to the Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Division.

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying what they have called the 'Bird Poop Bandits.'

The first reported theft involved one of the thieves offering to wipe bird poop off a person's back as he removed a wallet from the victim's pocket, according to authorities.

The thieves distracted another person during a second theft then took a camera from the victim's backpack.

One of the Bird Poop Bandits is described as a 5-foot-6-inch man with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe he weighs approximately 180 pounds and is 35 to 40 years old.

Authorities described the second thief as a 35 to 40 year old woman with black hair. She is believed to be 5-foot-5-inches and weighs around 130 pounds.
