Four Arrested in Deadly Monrovia Restaurant Shooting

The suspects entered the bar and got into an argument with patrons that escalated into a fight and then a shooting.

Authorities Friday announced that four suspects have been arrested and three others are being sought in connection with a Monrovia shooting that left a man dead and two others wounded.

Detectives planned a news conference this afternoon to release further details in the investigation into the shooting that took the life of 43-year-old Michael Lowe of Monrovia.

The shooting occurred shortly after midnight Dec. 2 at Gem City Grill, in the 100 block of East Olive Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which was assisting Monrovia police with the investigation.

According to the witnesses, the suspects entered the bar and got into an argument with patrons that escalated into a fight and then a shooting. Lowe died at a hospital and two other wounded men in their 20s were hospitalized.

This morning, the sheriff's department announced that four suspects had been arrested and three others were being sought. Detectives planned to release photos of the wanted suspects, two of whom have been identified.
