A 54-year-old Fresno man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Disneyland Drive and the suspect, Stefanie Lyn Bieser of La Mirada, has been arrested for suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs causing bodily injury, Anaheim police said Sunday.
She was booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility on a $100,000 bail.
The accident occurred at 11:04 p.m. Saturday on Disneyland Drive north of Katella Avenue. The victim was walking south on Disneyland Drive when a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser going north on Disneyland Drive jumped the curb, struck a pole and an electrical box, then hit the man, said Sgt. Daron Wyatt, a public information officer with the Anaheim Police Department.
The man sustained major injuries and was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Wyatt said. His name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Northbound Disneyland Drive was closed at Katella Avenue while the investigation continues.
