At least one police officer opened fire on a man in West Covina Friday, but it was unclear if he was shot.
The shooting occurred about 1:40 p.m. at Cameron and Glendora avenues in West Covina, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
He was injured and taken to a hospital, but his condition was not immediately available and there was no immediate confirmation that he had been struck by gunfire, a sheriff's department spokeswoman said.
No officers were hurt. The shooting appeared to have occurred at the end of a chase involving a white van, according to a report from the scene.
Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives were dispatched to assist West Covina police in the shooting investigation.
