High-Speed Driver of Stolen Vehicle Surrenders After Police Perform PIT-Maneuver

The driver of a stolen black Mustang who led police on a high-speed chase through northeast Los Angeles Monday surrendered after authorities performed a PIT-maneuver.

Police engaged in the pursuit at approximately 10:45 p.m. in Northeast Los Angeles after the driver failed to yield.

The driver hopped on and off freeways through Alhambra, Downey, Norwalk and City of Commerce before the chase ended at 11:56 p.m. on streets in El Sereno.

During the pursuit, the driver reached speeds over 100 mph, drove on the wrong side of the road and had a close call with another driver.
