Vehicle Struck by Gunfire in Road Rage Incident in Cypress

The suspect fired at least three shots at the victim's vehicle.

One vehicle was struck by gunfire in a road rage incident in Cypress and police searched Friday for the shooter.

The victim was returning home after grocery shopping and driving in the area of Valley View Street and Lincoln Avenue about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, when he turned east onto Lincoln Avenue and the driver of another vehicle who believed he had been cut off by the victim's turn began following the victim, according to Sgt. Mark Clemons of the Cypress Police Department.

The suspect's vehicle, described as a Dodge Challenger or Charger, followed the victim until the victim stopped outside of a home in the 6200 block of Lincoln Avenue, where the suspect lowered the passenger window of the vehicle and fired at least three shots at the victim's vehicle, striking it once, Clemons said.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit by gunfire was not injured and the driver of the suspect vehicle left the area in an unknown direction.

A detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available.
