The hospital was also ranked among the best nationally in 15 areas, including cancer treatment; diabetes and endocrinology; and ear, nose and throat.

The magazine evaluated 5,000 hospitals, and 152 were nationally ranked in a specialty.
Other area hospitals receiving top rankings locally were Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, USC University Hospital, UCI Medical Center, Santa MonicaUCLA Medical Center, City of Hope, Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, St. Vincent Medical Center, Huntington Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital.
The Los Angeles metro area included Long Beach, Santa Ana and Santa Monica.
