A 24-year-old woman was shot and killed early Friday at an apartment complex in Laguna Niguel.
Detectives responded at about 1:30 a.m. to the 30000 block of Pacific Island Drive (map). The woman was pronounced dead at a hospital.
"The victim's husband is being questioned by investigators," said Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino.
Investigators remained at the apartment at 7 a.m. The OC Sheriff's Department has no "call history" to the residence, Amormino said.
Deputies responded to the location Friday after a 911 call from the victim's husband. Deputies confirmed to NBC4 that the man told the dispatcher that he had just shot his wife.
Amormino said the case is a "death investigation." It remained unclear Friday morning whether the husband would face charges.
