It's almost time to bid The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror a final farewell as the unnerving attraction makes its way to "the other side" - and before it is 6 feet underground, Disney is inviting riders one last chance to board the ride in total darkness.
The Tower is making its final check out from Disney's California Adventure on Jan. 2, 2017, according to the Disney Parks blog.
Until then, beginning Sept. 9, park goers will experience "Late Check-Out," where the Tower will be operated in total darkness.
The darkness lasts until Oct. 31 - perfect for Halloween time.
The park is also saluting the Tower with special performances on Buena Vista street, new food and drinks, and guests get a chance for a photo op "checking out" with vintage luggage.
The reason for the Tower of Terror's "crossing over" is due to a new project: the Tower will be revamped into a new "Guardians of the Galaxy" experience.
Fans reacted in horror on Facebook when the announcement came to light last July.
