OC Family Driven From Home by Blaze Possibly Caused by Fireworks

A family was displaced after a blaze possibly caused by fireworks broke out in an apartment building in Garden Grove late Monday.

The fire on the 13100 block of Jefferson Street broke out just after 10:45 p.m, a Garden Grove Fire Department spokesman said.

When crews arrived smoke was coming from the roof, however they managed to confine the fire to a small bedroom. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.

A family of four adults and one child were driven from their home as a result of the blaze. They will be receiving emergency aid if required.

Investigators are looking into the possibility illegal fireworks cause the fire.
