Family Holds Out Hope Missing Pilot is Alive

Nearly a week of searching and still nothing. Now the family of a missing pilot-in-training who holds out hope that he's still alive is offering a $250,000 reward to help find him.

Video from private pilot Edmound Harorian's family hired for the search appears to capture an emergency signal going off that the family thinks is a big clue.

Haronian's brother, Edwin, believes his brother, a pilot in training missing since Saturday, is alive.

"I believe it and I'm really looking forward to seeing him again, alive and well to give him a hug," he said.

Haronian was supposed to return to the Van Nuys Airport after departing from Catalina Saturday afternoon.

Since then, the family has hired private pilots and a psychic who they say led them to an emergency signal near the Cleveland National Forest two nights ago.

The U.C. Coast Guard confirms they've received the report.

"I love him very much and miss him," Edwin said. "I wish I spent more time with him when I could — hope he comes back."
