Viewer Video: Hail in Costa Mesa

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to roll through the OC throughout the day.

Bradley Smith woke to the sound of hail pounding on the roof Saturday morning in Costa Mesa.

The 37-year-old Orange resident was visiting his mother in Costa Mesa when the hail woke him at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

"It was the largest hail I'd ever seen," said Smith. "Some of it was the size of a quarter."
