LA Kings Victory Parade Ready to March

The celebration will begin at noon on Thursday, June 14, at Fifth and Figueroa streets

The LA Kings, families, coaches and all who contributed to their historic Stanley Cup win will march down the streets of Los Angeles Thursday, undoubtedly to the deafening cries of screaming fans who have waited decades for a hockey championship to come to the Southland.

The celebration will begin at noon on Thursday, June 14, at Fifth and Figueroa streets, according to officials at Anschutz Entertainment Company, which owns the Staples Center.

Team VIPs, including the Ice Crew, mascot Baily and broadcasters, will hop on double-decker buses with the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe Trophy and Clarence Campbell Cup during the parade, which is expected to last just under an hour, officials said in a statement released Monday.

A rally will start at 2:30 p.m. and ticketholders will be treated to video highlights from the season, and speeches and reactions from many of the victorious players.

More than 18,000 free tickets were distributed online Tuesday, officials said.

Season ticket members, suite and premier suite holders were given priority. Those chosen fans received a password via email from the LA Kings, Staples Center of AEG to reserve and print tickets.

General public tickets were available online to the general public starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and were sold out in minutes, officials said.

Fans planning to celebrate Thursday are encouraged to line the one-mile Figueroa Street parade route between Fifth Street to the north and Chick Hearn Court to the south.

LAPD and the Department of Transportation will allow limited access into the areas immediately adjacent to Staples Center and L.A. Live.
