LMU Increases Security Amid Sexual Assault Investigation

The sexual assault took place in the library's first floor bathroom on the Loyola Marymount University campus over the weekend, officials said.

Loyola Marymount University is increasing campus security after a sexual assault took place in a campus bathroom over the weekend. 

The incident occurred Sunday between 6 and 8 p.m., according to LMU's Department of Public Safety. The assault is reported to have occurred in the first floor bathroom of the library.

The female victim described the suspect as a white male adult, approximately 18-20 years old. The man's height and weight are unknown.

She added that there may be blood on the man's shirt.

The Los Angeles Police Department is assisting the university's Department of Public Safety in the investigation.

A campus-wide alert was sent to students to alert them of the crime.
