Three firefighters are "doing well" after they were shocked by a downed electrical line while battling a fire that burned a housing fourplex early Friday morning in Long Beach.
The fire started in the garages of the fourplex at around 1:35 a.m. in the 5300 block of Cedar Avenue, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
The firefighters were shocked after wires overhead fell down and energized a fence, as well as the water on the ground, said fire department spokesman Jake Heflin.
They felt "weak, dizzy and shaky," and were taken to a hospital, where they are "doing well," Heflin said.
Firefighters knocked down the flames around 35 minutes later.
One unoccupied unit was damaged.
No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was unknown.
