Man Found Shot to Death in Pasadena

Police still searching for suspected shooter.

A man was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds in Pasadena on Friday night, police said.

Police responded to a call around 10:45 p.m. reporting shots fired in the 600 block of N. Mentor Avenue. Officers arrived and found a man fatally shot in the parkway, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

The victim was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s and a resident of Altadena. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The man's identification is being withheld until his family is notified.

Witnesses said they heard five gunshots and then a car speed off. One neighbor said she was shocked to hear about the violence.

"There's been some crime, there's been some robberies but never anything violent or definitely no homicide," one witness said.

There was no description of the shooter, police said.
