Shots Fired at Park Rangers in Dana Point

A man was detained in the water off the coast of Dana Point in connection with the shooting.

Authorities detained a man in the water off the coast of Dana Point and took a woman into custody after someone shot at park rangers Tuesday night, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Someone fired at the park rangers in the 25300 block of Dana Point Harbor Drive around 9:30 p.m.

The person took off running after shots were fired.

No one was injured in the shooting.

California State Parks requested assistance from the Orange County Sheriff's Department after the incident occurred.

At 10:50 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff's Department detained a man in the water off the coast. 

Deputies launched a search for a woman believed to be involved, and later took her into custody at 11:20 p.m.
