A person is in custody after leading LA County Sheriff's deputies on a pursuit that ended in the Montebello area.
The driver was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. Details about the crime were not immediately available.
The driver pulled into a dead end area near homes close to the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and 18th Street. He ran out of the vehicle and into the backyard of a home.
Deputies surrounded the home and called for a K-9 unit to help locate the driver.

The driver later surrendered to police and was taken into custody.
The pursuit covered many parts of Southern California both on local streets and multiple freeways. At times he was driving in the wrong direction on local streets.
