San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will conduct what is being billed as a "conversation about California's future" Tuesday night at Santa Monica High School in connection with his expected campaign for the 2010 Democratic gubernatorial nomination.
Newsom will give a brief overview of the state's problems, focusing on health care, the economy and education, and his solutions to them. He will field questions from the audience for the remainder of the hourlong event, according to Lane Kasselman, a Newsom campaign official.
The event is open to the public and is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Newsom plans to hold similar events Wednesday in San Diego, Friday in Santa Barbara and Saturday in Palm Springs.
